How to have an App Server Accessing Android Storage on a separate PC
In the past, I have used a Windows 7 PC to host the company web server, and I use the USB drive to backup and transfer files to and from the PC. I have one Windows 7 PC to run the web server and one Windows 7 machine to transfer the files. This setup worked well, but I’m hoping to now have both systems on the same PC.
I’ve tried to do this with a USB drive that is connected to the PC and a Samsung Android phone (Tegra), but I have been unable to have the web server access the files.
I know the PC and phone both have access to the storage, because I’ve used the phone to transfer the web server files from the PC before, with no problems.
Am I going about this the wrong way? Should I be making a connection via wifi? I’d prefer to do this with a USB cable, but I can use the phone via wifi.

Android does not support sharing its storage to other devices. If you’re talking about using the USB Cable to transfer files then it should be fine. It doesn’t matter if you’re on WiFi or not. But check for any potential security issue if you’re not using VPN to connect your devices.
