Placing NSDate into NSNumber?

I’m currently trying to get the current date from NSDate and place it into an NSNumber. The way I’m doing it is as follows;
NSDateFormatter *dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init];
NSString *dateString = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@”yyyy-MM-dd”];
NSString *dateString2 = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@”%@”, [[NSDate date] dateByAddingTimeInterval:(60*60*24*7)]]
NSDate *myDate = [dateFormatter dateFromString:dateString];
myDate = [dateFormatter dateFromString:dateString2];

NSNumber *myNumber = [NSNumber numberWithInt:([[NSDate date] timeIntervalSince1970] * 1000)];

NSLog(@”value of myNumber = %@”, myNumber);

The output is as follows;
value of myNumber = (null)

Any ideas?

I am actually getting this:

I have no idea why.

A:

NSDate is a class, not an instance. So you’re creating a new object and setting that to myNumber. That’s why it says (null).
You need to create an object and assign it to the myNumber variable.

A third-person action rpg with a unique aesthetic inspired by 90’s cartoons and Magic: The Gathering. Dungeon Reels Tactics allows you to take on the role of the Dungeon Master and pit yourself in a duel of skills against The “Great Evil”. Decide how you choose your party members, set their skills/reels, and attempt to defeat The “Great Evil”. It can be a comical, yet competitive experience as you seek to recover your lost treasure and claim The “Great Evil” for your own.
Character Selection
Player 1 selects the Role of a Dungeon Master (DM) and then recruits their party. Each party member begins with their own unique slot machine and each turn has 3 abilities to choose from from their slot. The DM can purchase new recruits with recruit tickets to choose from.
30 Enemies
If a party member remains in battle longer than 30 seconds, the party member will be placed in a battle against a randomly generated “Boss” and gains a unique ability based on the type of Boss they are fighting. Each turn the Dungeon Master can move around the map to perform maneuvers and attack the boss. Each turn the boss can attack the party in turn. If a party member is hit, they will fall in battle and die. At the end of the battle, if the party defeated the boss, they will earn bonus gold.
Boss Battle
The 3 “Bosses” of Dungeon Reels Tactics are randomly generated. Each boss begins with an ability score that they can use to attack the party. The boss can attack the party a number of times in a turn.
Quests
The Dungeon Master can embark on Quests in order to defeat The “Great Evil” for themselves. To defeat The Great Evil, the Dungeon Master must complete 3 quests. Once a quest is completed, the Dungeon Master will return to the start of the map and be awarded bonus gold.
If the party members have not recruited any new members by the end of the map, the party will have to restart the map and then attempt to complete the quests.
Arena
Each arena in Dungeon Reels Tactics is uniquely generated and will give the Dungeon Master at the start of the run a unique board layout that will be used for that run. The Dungeon Master begins in one of 4 positions on the board. In each direction there is another empty position. The Dungeon Master can move their character from one empty position to another in a number of moves.

Oxidants And Antioxidants In Cancer

Oxidants and antioxidants — whether natural or synthetic — are key components in the cellular machinery that causes cancer to proliferate, according to research at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

The team — which includes researchers from the campus and University of Lausanne in Switzerland — has made the discovery while studying the effects of alcohol and obesity on cancer.

Previous studies have shown that obesity causes insulin resistance, a metabolic syndrome that increases the risk of cancer. Researchers have also found that alcohol, a common lifestyle risk factor for cancer, interferes with the body’s ability to metabolize insulin.

“Insulin and alcohol metabolism have been seen to be the most important factors in the development of cancer,” said Erin McCarthy, PhD, an assistant professor in the UCSD School of Medicine’s Department of Genetics and the principal investigator on the study. “We have uncovered a previously unrecognized link between alcohol and obesity and the risk of cancer that underlies these effects.”

In the study, published in the journal Clinical Investigation, the team set out to find out how these metabolic effects affect the development of cancer.

“We focused our attention on the liver as the major source of circulating insulin, and found that during obesity, it secretes large amounts of insulin,” said McCarthy. “As a consequence, the liver becomes resistant to the actions of insulin, and overall insulin-dependent processes are compromised. Moreover, there is an increased risk for liver cancer in mice with metabolic syndrome and high-fat diets.”

But the investigators went a step further and examined how the liver-derived insulin affects the risk of cancer.

They found that mice fed a high-fat diet and exposed to alcohol had a significant increase in liver cancer — up to five times the incidence of liver cancer seen in control mice fed a standard diet.

They also found that the cancerous cells in the mice were affected in similar ways by the presence of alcohol.

In fact, the cells took on many of the characteristics of embryonic stem cells, meaning that they were given the capacity to develop into different types of cells.

“We hypothesized that cells that would normally become liver cells were induced by alcohol and high-fat diets to take on characteristics similar to embryonic stem cells,” said
