I’m a newbie to the area of Linux; I have recently downloaded Debian – but it is literally so not working. I’m new to Linux in general. I want to be able to use my computer, but I can’t get anything working. For some reason, I can’t even get the internet to load on this laptop. I have tried uninstalling (reinstalling) the various drivers/programs/apps that I have installed. Nothing seems to work (although I know it should). Please help.

If you are having problems with Debian, post a thread with the following information:
1. What type of computer? (desktop, laptop, etc.)
2. What Debian version? (i386 or amd64)
3. What version of X? (x.org, xfree86, x.org, fc10-like etc)
4. Do you have nvidia graphics card? If yes, which card?
5. Do you have an integrated wifi card? If yes, do you know what driver it is using?
6. Do you have desktop effects enabled?
7. Have you posted on the forums?

Bemused is a cross-platform music visualizer which allows you to browse, play and synchronise your music collection via your phone, through Bluetooth connections.
Bemused interfaces with Winamp, but allows for any music/CD player to be connected to it, whether it be Windows Media Player, Winamp, PowerPoint Viewer, or even a device driver, such as iTunes.

Bemused can control Winamp 2, Winamp (3.4.1), Windows Media Player and PowerPoint Viewer via Bluetooth connections (the supported library must be linked to the adapter). It supports the following transport protocols:

In the event that you have more than one Bluetooth adapter, each can be used independently.
Using Bluetooth
If your PC has an adapter that supports Bluetooth, you simply press the connect button in Bemused and wait for the music to sync. It should take only about 5 seconds, depending on the number of devices connected. You can then control it with your phone.
Note: Bemused will communicate with any compatible device that supports the Bluetooth standard. Currently, this is mainly Bluetooth headsets.
Bemused is compatible with all standard music players, such as Winamp, Windows Media Player and Media Player. It will work fine with Powerpoint view of music files, however Winamp or Windows Media Player must be installed.

The Nokia Music Toolkit ( is an Eclipse based framework and Eclipse plug-in intended to support the development and use of software that utilises Nokia Music API. This tutorial will be exploring how to use the Nokia Music Toolkit to add support for controlling playback on a Nokia Music mobile phone.
The system will be running a SCION plug-in so the connection will be via Bluetooth.

Bemused is a software that will allow you to control your music collection from your phone, using Bluetooth. Bemused requires a Series 60 or UIQ phone (e.g. Nokia 7650/3650, or Sony Ericsson P800/P900), and a PC with a Bluetooth adapter.
Bemused can control your PC using Bluetooth, infra-red, USB or GPRS. To use infra-red or USB, you must have PC Suite running on your PC. Also, in this case the connection must be initiated from the PC.
The Bemused server on your PC doesn’t require any installation; it consists of a single EXE which can be run from anywhere. It will create an INI file in the same directory that it’s run from.
The Bemused application for your phone is a standard SIS file which should be sent to your phone and installed.
Note: Bemused does not support the Sony Ericsson T610, and will not do so in the future. Bemused only runs on phones based on Symbian OS.
